A very proud and historical town of Šibenik calls itself Krešimir`s town since it was mentioned for the first time as early as 1066 in a document of the famous Croatian king Petar Krešimir IV.
The town is situated in the middle of the indented eastern Adriatic coast. Throughout the centuries it had been referred to as a cultural, scientific trading and military centre of Dalmatia.
Owing to its location and geographic features Šibenik is considered one of the most important ports in the strategic and nautical sense. Recently, it has taken an important place in the tourists` destination map of Croatia due to its location, transport nets and supply.
D - Marin Mandalina and its location on the peninsula and in bay of the same name is a perfect spot for development of the nautical tourism. In addition to sea and land mooring D - Marin Mandalina is the only site in Croatia for mega yacht up to 140 m in length. There is a shipyard and a petrol station in its vicinity.
D - Marin Mandalina has been recognised among the navigators as an ideal set off point to some of the most attractive water routes in Croatia. Within an easy reach for the navigators is the archipelago of Šibenik itself, all the beauty of the Kornati Islands National Park, the excitements of the mid Adriatic islands of Hvar, Vis, Brač and Šolta; also the navigation along the Krka canyon to Skradin and the National Park would certainly leave no one indifferent.
